Independence Day... Dependent Life
Thank You Heavenly Father for birthing this country,
Thank You for Your hand guiding this nation,
Though it seems dark and bleak,
Though it seems impossible to turn the tide,
Grant us hope,
Because You ARE hope,
May we will never give up,
To bring Your kingdom here on earth,
In the United States of America.
Make us ONE nation under God,
Indivisible,
For liberty and justice for all.
May we hold onto Your promises,
May we see Your ray of light in the darkness,
May we know the whole world is in Your hands,
May we SEEK You more than ever before.
Lord, HEAL our land!
Lord, POUR our Spirit upon us and cleanse us!
Lord, FORGIVE this nation for our trespasses,
And Help US, the citizens,
Forgive this nation and it's leaders as You have forgiven us.
Let us not speak evil of those you have placed in leadership,
For no one in power has gotten it without Your approval,
Which may be hard to believe,
But Your word is TRUTH and you say,
"Let everyone be subject to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except that which God has established. The authorities that exist have been established by God."
As we celebrate this Independence Day,
Let us be wise in the independence we seek.
May be seek independence from evil, tyranny and oppression,
But never seek to be independent from You.
May we ALWAYS be utterly DEPENDENT on You for life,
May we SEEK You with all our hearts,
May we NEVER be depend on our knowledge but ONLY Yours.
May our country's independence NOT lead us away from You,
May our country's independence NOT turn into rebellion against You,
May our country's independence NOT grieve You.
Lord, open our eyes to see how DEPENDENT we need to be on You.
Make us even more DEPENDENT on You for wisdom,
Make us even more DEPENDENT on You for finances,
Make us even more DEPENDENT on You for health,
Make us even more DEPENDENT on You for big dreams and goals,
Not just in words but in ACTION.
Break us out of the DELUSION that we got things handled,
Break us out of INDEPENDENCE rooted in self-reliance, pride and rebellion,
Break us out of INDEPENDENCE draws us AWAY from You.
Instead...
Draw us CLOSER to You,
Show us how DEPENDENT we are on You,
That we may CLING to Your every word,
Your every direction,
Your every advice,
Your every whisper.
Help us YEARN to hear Your voice or the prompting of Your Spirit,
In every situation and every moment,
Lord make us UTTERLY DEPENDENT on You,
On this country's Independence Day.
In Jesus name, Amen.
Cheers to our nation's birthday,
A country birthed for the freedom to worship Jesus freely,
To honor Him in all that we do,
To be ONE nation under God.
