Body, Soul, Spirit of your Business...
If you looked at your business as a creation with 3 parts like we are...
Body,
Soul,
Spirit...
What would that look like?
What would that mean?
BODY:
- For humans, the body is the physical container that we can touch and feel.
- For business that would be the physical building, legal papers, office supplies and equipment, employees.
SOUL:
- For humans, that is the mind... the part that says "I want, I think, I feel".
- For business that would be the desires for the business that says "I want, I think, I feel".
- For humans, this is the part that died when sin arrived and was reborn when we accepted Jesus. This is the part that connects with God and is born again (or "found-again" if you have strayed and are returning ^_^).
- This can apply for businesses as well. Until the business acknowledges Jesus as it's TRUE boss, it lacks God connection. However, when it does give it's life to Jesus it is born again (or "found-again") business as a ministry.
Let's look at the NEEDS of a human and compare it to the business.
BODY:
- For humans, we need to feed it good food, drink water and exercise.
- For business, it needs good people, processes, and technology.
- For humans, we have needs to be emotionally enriched and satisfied through relationships, success, health and fun.
- For business, the needs are to grow, good culture, client satisfaction.
- For humans, we need God. Everyone has a God-size hole that can only be filled by God. Our true fulfillment and purpose is in doing God's will because HIS plan is infinitely, mind-blowing better than ours. We are meant to be filled by Holy Spirit in a way that has us operating in overflow of power, love and a sound mind. We should live and operate in a way provokes others to jealousy and curiosity about God. Until we do, we will attempt to fill it with all sorts of worldly things that won't ever satisfy us.
- For business, we need God. Each business formed is by God's design and it also needs to be to filled with Holy Spirit so that it can represent a piece of God's kingdom on earth and operate from overflow of power, love and a sound mind. It should provoke other businesses to jealousy and curiosity about God.
"What no eye has seen, nor ear heard, nor human heart conceived, what God has prepared for those who love him"
There are many similarities in our human being and the being of our business.
So how is the SPIRITUAL health of our business?
The bottom line is this...
Without God, the business will only have 1/1000th of the impact that it is capable of when operating WITH God.
And isn't that what we all REALLY want?
To make impact?
To make a difference?
God put that in us.
To want to make a difference.
To change lives.
For Him.
Saving souls.
Transforming hearts.
The BEST impact you can make is...
KINGDOM impact.
Here's 3 things to ask yourself about the SPIRITUAL Health of your business...
1) Is your business a "born-again" business?
Have you dedicated it to God and asked Him to be the boss? Have you declared it as a ministry? If not, do it now with a prayer.
"Dear God, In Jesus name I declare my business a ministry and give it to You. Forgive me for doing things my way. I surrender everything to you, my hopes, dreams, and goals. Use this business to move the kingdom forward . Teach me. Lead me. Guard me. It's an honor to do business with You. In Jesus name, Amen."
2) What are you feeding your business SPIRITUALLY?
- Do you seek God's will each day for the business?... Not just about marketing, growth or finances, but HIS will.
- Do you pray individually or as a team?
- Do you start your meetings or huddles with prayer?
- Do you pray as a team for family, clients or prospects?
- Do you ask to start client meetings with prayer?
3) What are you doing to DISCIPLE your people?
- Have you ever asked your team about their faith or spiritual journey? Do you know where they're at in their faith or where they came from? If not, ASK! Have coffee or lunch and just ASK. It's that simple. Then meet them where they are at and ask Holy Spirit to guide you in how to draw them closer to Jesus.
- Do you offer prayer or bible reading book club?
- Do you teach your people how to pray for others in business?
- Do you teach them how to pray with their clients?
There are so many fun ways to feed the spiritual needs of your business.
Integrate in Holy Spirit into every area of your business and see it come to life in a whole new way that you never thought was possible.
