Comparing Success
The taste of success can be an emotional high.
So exciting.
So thrilling.
Conquer the world.
Last man standing.
Me.
With success, it felt like there's nothing I couldn't do.
Where there's a will, there's a way.
All I had to do was "work harder" than anyone else.
Done.
10x harder.
Boom.
So what was the result?
Accolade.
Success.
Money.
More Drive.
More Goals.
Bigger Goals.
... 10X Bigger Goals.
Many times we compare our success to others.
There's always someone bigger, better, badder.
There's always another mountain to climb.
There's always another #1 ranking to get.
There's always another $100k or $1M to make.
We ALL fall in to comparing our success to others and letting it drive us to do more.
Where does it end?
It doesn't.
Success keep growing as you feed it.
However...
Success is fed with the energy that should have gone towards...
Your family.
Memories for your children.
Attention towards your husband or wife.
Your physical health.
Your mental health.
But if we're not taking care of our family, relationships, health, mental health and spiritual growth, what is the other crap doing for us?
So before you go off catching that next big whale, ask yourself...
"If NO ONE would see my success would I still do it?"
"Is it worth the price of my family, relationships, health, mental health and spiritual growth?"
"For am I now seeking the approval of man, or of God? Or am I trying to please man? If I were still trying to please man, I would not be a servant of Christ."
What's REALLY driving you?
"Do nothing from rivalry or conceit, but in humility count others more significant than yourselves."
Do only the things you were do if NO ONE EVER got to see it.
If ON ONE EVER got to see your house, car, vacation, photos, would you do it?
"Do not be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewal of your mind, that by testing you may discern what is the will of God, what is good and acceptable and perfect. "
Focus on what is good and acceptable to God.
What are you comparing yourself to?
God's standard or human standard?
Cheers to picking the RIGHT thing to compare yourself to. ^_^
