Rowena Patton: Teen Run-away to $60M Real Estate Business

Teen Run-away turns into Top Real Estate Coach with a $60 million Allstar team!

Rowena Patton was born in Leamington Spa in England. As a kid, Rowena was artistic, creative, and loved singing. Her grandfather would take her around the UK to perform in singing competitions. At home, however, she had an extremely abusive environment. Many nights she cried herself to sleep hoping that things would change and be better the next day.  Unfortunately that didn’t happen.

At the age of 15, Rowena ran away to live with a friend.  She had enough of the abuse and decided that her horrific situation would not stop her from finishing school, going to college and becoming successful.

In college, while studying Marketing and Graphic Design, she worked at a bar, a Home Depot equivalent in the UK, and went door-to-door selling textured coating to pay her way through school.

After college, Rowena had the opportunity of working in different lines of businesses including a PR and Photographic company, expanding a marketing company all throughout Europe, insurance and management consultancy.

Rowena left Europe 20 years ago and her real estate career began when she got her license and meant to use it to buy properties for herself. She didn't intend to grow a business but because of her marketing background; which people in her neighborhood knew about, she took on requests to list homes for them. In her first year, she sold homes valued at $12 million making her rookie of the year and top 3 in the country.

Her experience growing up as a physically abused child gave her the skills to survive. It taught her grit, determination, tenacity, and has also developed that "6th sense" of knowing one's exact mood, how she should relate, and keeping herself out of danger. She now looks at that experience as a blessing and believes the skills she developed then have become useful in her career now.

Her Biggest Mistake
Rowena learned her biggest lesson when she hired someone whose vision was different from hers. Her advice is to take time when hiring someone and find out whether or not their goals and vision for your company are aligned with yours.

Unique Value Proposition
Rowena's vision is for all of agents to find out what's unique about them and leverage on that to efficiently build a successful and more positive relationship with clients. She'd like to establish a worldwide machine that helps agents understand what their unique value proposition really is and how to set themselves apart.
