God is a Double Dipper...
If you're have suffered much loss,
And things seem broken beyond repair,
And impossible to turn around,
The good news is...
God is a DOUBLE dipper.
God uses all that seems to be broken,
And DOUBLE dips to not only to mend but to heal others through you.
He uses impossible situations to show off and turn around,
And uses it opens better doors than you can ever imagine.
God is a DOUBLE dipper.
"I will restore to you the years that the swarming locust has eaten"
If you have broken relationships,
Decades of hurt and trauma,
God's got you.
He will reveal even MORE of His love to hold You through the hurt,
He will heal the trauma to make you stronger than ever,
He will use your testimony to save souls by the millions because,
God is a DOUBLE dipper.
"Instead of your shame there shall be a double portion; instead of dishonor they shall rejoice in their lot; therefore in their land they shall possess a double portion; they shall have everlasting joy."
No amount of time,
No amount of pain or sorrow will ever go to waste,
God will transform it all into something good because,
God is a DOUBLE dipper.
God will take the very thing the enemy tried to kill you with,
To save you,
Make you stronger,
Heal others,
And save souls for all eternity because,
Got is a DOUBLE dipper.
God gave us specific instructions,
On what to do while He is DOUBLE dipping.
"give thanks in ALL circumstances; for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus."
This is a bit more literal than you may think.
Here's how I did it...
When I was so frustrated I just wanted to punch something (or someone),
I prayed "Jesus, I thank you for _______ (the person/thing I want to punch)".
When I unbelievably ticked off by a person,
I prayed "Jesus, I thank you for ______ (the person that ticked me off)."
Then I go on...
"Lord I thank You for ______ (irritation #1),
Lord I thank You for ______ (irritation #2),
Lord I thank You for ______ (irritation #3), ect."
And keep going until you feel the internal pressure of frustration release.
It may take 10 Thank You's or it may take 20, 30 or 40.
Doesn't matter,
Keep going until you feel the release of pressure.
Here's how it plays out for me...
At first, I can't help but start off real sarcastic,
I'm saying thank You but I don't sound like it at all,
I'm saying thank You but I don't mean it at all,
I'm saying thank You but I don't want to at all,
But I keep going...
I keep thanking God for all the specific pet peeves,
I keep thanking God for all the specific challenges,
I keep thanking God for all the specific frustrations.
And eventually,
I start feeling just a little bit lighter,
My face releases the frown just a little bit more,
I almost start smiling without even knowing it.
The ugliest of frustrations,
The most vile thoughts,
The darkest desires,
Have fallen through literally thanking God for the yucky stuff.
To follow God's instructions means to WIN.
"And after you have suffered a little while, the God of all grace, who has called you to his eternal glory in Christ, will himself restore, confirm, strengthen, and establish you."
If you do this, Satan won't be able to withstand your cheerfulness,
His demons won't be able to handle your joy,
And they will be forced to flee,
Because they can't stand God's light in you.
"Resist the devil, and he will flee from you."
Score 100 points for The God Squad, zero for the ol' devil.
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Thank You that You are my Redeemer,
Thank You that You are Lord of Restoration,
Thank You that You are victor ALWAYS,
Thank You that I can trust in You for ALL things.
Help me to trust You with my HEART,
Help me to trust You with my DREAMS,
Help me to trust You with my DESIRES,
Help me to trust You with my LIFE plans.
May I not see the loss at hand,
But keep my eyes on You,
May I not focus the brokenness inside,
But keep my heart on You,
May I not see things as impossible,
But know that you are my King POSSIBLE.
Lord I love You,
I thank You,
I praise You.
