Not Seeking Results?
This may be the most counterintuitive thing in the world...
But what if we were NOT meant to seek results in the way "humans" have taught us?
For example...
What if we're not supposed to pressure ourselves to "double or business" or "10X-it"?
What if we're not supposed to drive so hard?
What if God wants to produce BETTER results and we're supposed to just be obedient and let him do the heavy lifting?
What if we're supposed to WORSHIP God with our OBEDIENCE?
OBEDIENCE is a lot bigger than what it may seem.
OBEDIENCE can be...
- Showing up for work in excellence even when we don't feel like it.
- Being kind to nasty clients and showing God's love.
- Going the extra mile when no one is looking.
- Sharing God in the small and everyday things at work.
- Praying for your co-workers, clients and prospects.
What if God wants to use your OBEDIENCE to...
- Multiply your business when it doesn't make sense?
- Make money show up last minute so you know it was Him and not you?
- Test you to do illogical things so he can work miracles in your life?
- Know that you will obey Him before you obey your checking account?
What if we have it all BACKWARDS right now?
Because right now...
- We're the ones driving the results.
- We have to grind it out and strive to acheive.
- We don't seek God for all things, only the "big" things.
- There's no room for God to tell us to make an illogical left turn because we're not asking Him for directions.
- God is not really driving the results, many times it's our own ambition, intellect, drive and ego.
- It's hard to imagine that God is REALLY going to care for ALL the details including the "small" stuff.
IMAGINE this...
- What would it feel like if God did all the heavy lifting?
- How different would life be if the #1 focus is OBEDIENCE to God?
- How much less energy would that take?
- How much better results would God give to us?
Why not consider making this the NEW norm?
I'm not saying it's easy.
I'm not saying it's "normal".
It may even be "foolish" by human eyes.
"But God chose the foolish things of the world to shame the wise; God chose the weak things of the world to shame the strong."
"For the wisdom of this world is foolishness in God’s sight. As it is written: 'He catches the wise in their craftiness'"
What if the new norm of REALLY living looks "foolish" to humans but is wise by God?
What if God wants to put to shame all the "human" logic and show off how much He can bless us if we are just crazy OBEDIENT?
What I am saying is...
What if we're SUPPOSED to live be crazy OBEDIENT,... and us humans just messed it up over time?
Cuz here's what the bible says...
- "Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and do not lean on your own understanding."
- "Casting all your anxieties on him, because he cares for you."
- "And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus."
- "For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans to prosper you and not to harm you, to give you a future and a hope."
- "The Lord will fight for you, and you have only to be silent."
- "It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man."
- "For I, the Lord your God, hold your right hand; it is I who say to you, 'Fear not, I am the one who helps you.'"
Did I get this backwards?
Instead of me doing the heavy lifting, is God supposed to do it?
Am I not supposed to work so "hard"?
Did I forget to ask God about my plans?
Am I grinding too much and leveraging God too little?
Is God my refuge?
Is He my provider or my backup plan?
What would it look like if He REALLY provided for all things?
If this makes you pucker, you're probably on the right track.
Don't be afraid.
Sit with it.
Ask God for truth, boldness and courage to step into a new type of life.
A life full of miracles, wonders and love.
Cheers to a radically different you and life!
Wohooo!!!
Let's rock this joint! ^_^
