Pay Taxes Honestly Because...
Do you like writing off your dinners as expenses?
Do you like writing off your travels and shopping as expenses?
After all...
The government doesn't deserve our hard-earned money, right?
Taxes are way to high anyways, right?
What does Jesus have to say about that?
"Pay to all what is owed to them: taxes to whom taxes are owed, revenue to whom revenue is owed"
"Give the Emperor what belongs to him and give God what belongs to God."
God wants us to pay taxes honestly.
It doesn't matter if we agree with it or not,
God made it very clear in His word.
This doesn't mean you have to love what the government is doing,
This doesn't mean you have to to agree with them,
It just means do the right thing according to God's command.
Pay Taxes honestly BECAUSE He said so.
Here's a simpler version.
"Thou shall not lie."
"Thou shall not steal."
How does God feel about your obedience to the 10 commandments when it comes to taxes?
Would you want your children to handle God's money the way you do taxes?
Would you want others to treat your money the way you do taxes?
I know this can be a hard pill to swallow,
But don't sell your soul short over earthly treasures.
Do the right thing for God,
Pay Taxes Honestly BECAUSE He said so "and all these things shall be added unto you".
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Forgive me for any dishonesty around taxes,
Help me get my head and heart right around this,
So I can honor and glorify you in ALL that I do,
Including taxes.
Lord, thank You for being with me in all the details of my life,
Including my finances and my taxes,
Thank You for providing an example for this in Your word.

I praise You,
I bless You.
