Provoking Others to Curiosity...
What if sharing Jesus was waaayyy easier we think?
What if one of the main ways Jesus intended was,
For us to PROVOKE others to curiosity by the way we live?
I'm talking about a quality of life that stirs up conversation,
I'm talking about a lifestyle that PROVOKES people to curiosity,
And they can't help but be curious enough to ASK,
"How did you do it?", "What's your secret?", "What should I do?".
What in the world can cause that?
How about doing what Jesus told us to do.
"By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another."
I know a guy that visited a church for the first time and on that FIRST visit he knew something was different. He said there was so much LOVE everywhere the whole atmosphere was different. The way people talked to each other and treated each other was nothing he ever saw before going to church.
Can you imagine the possibilities?
With an environment like that,
Someone who is a first time visitor can leave that place,
And be talking to his friend and say,
"I had the most unusual experience today...".
The friend says, "Yeah, what's that?"
And he would end up sharing because he is PROVOKED to curiosity.
A friend I know who not really interested in Jesus or church,
Had a mother who got cancer,
Who went through chemo,
And while on her death bed,
The daughter noted such joy and peace in her mother,
She had a peace and strength that was encouraging others while she was dying.
The daughter couldn't make sense of it,
Didn't know how it was possible,
And after her mother's passing,
Was PROVOKED to curiosity about God and how that was possible.
I had no interest in God and church for 20+ years,
When I hit burnout,
And I was searching,
I started working with a nutritionist that loved Jesus,
But the way she talked about it was not cheesy,
The way she acted was different,
Her mindset and look at life was different,
And it PROVOKED me to curiosity about your business is your ministry.
She was a huge influence in my life that enabled me to write these emails I am writing today!
You NEVER know who you are able to PROVOKE to curiosity about Jesus!
And the beauty of this is that you don't have to go out of your way to do something spectacular or different.
You're just doing life the way Jesus told you to.
"In the same way, let your light shine before others, so that they may see your good works and give glory to your Father who is in heaven."
Cuz if you do that right,
Then the way that you do things will just stand out,
Because Jesus has a way of making you stand out.
You won't have to TRY so hard,
You won't have to FORCE a result,
You won't have to use BRUTE strength to push things through,
It's just EASY and you won't be able to hide it.
"You are the light of the world. A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."
"You should mind your own business and work with your hands, just as we told you, so that your daily life may win the respect of outsiders"
"What you have learned and received and heard and seen in me—practice these things, and the God of peace will be with you."
