Super Short 5 Words or Less Prayers...
I love the fact that Jesus always kept things SIMPLE.
As a matter of fact, anything that is too complicated may be a red flag.
When there's too much human and not enough God,
Things look complicated,
So we must remember that,
Jesus kept things SIMPLE.
Jesus simplified things so that EVERYONE can understand,
Even the "lower" class people that were considered uneducated.
As a matter of fact, those would be the fisherman that Jesus chose as his disciples.
Jesus seemed to cater to more redneck knuckleheads types,
Much more than the pristine scholarly types.
So in the spirit of keeping things simple,
Here are some very simple prayers that are 5 words or less,
That are so handy and powerful.
1) Jesus, help.
2) Lord, sustain me.
3) Jesus, help my unbelief.
4) Jesus, what do You think?
5) Thank You Jesus.
These prayers are so simple, but the hardest part is to REMEMBER to use them.
What this reveals to me about myself is...
I can see how much I'm actually SEEKING God,
Or not,
Because the more disconnected from God,
The less I use these prayers,
I forget to ask God for His opinion or His help.
However, the more in tune I am with God,
The more I seek for His opinion,
The more I ask for his help in all sorts of situations big or small.
For me, it shows up like this in life and business...
When I begin to feel myself rush and start to get wound up,
I pray "Jesus help."
When I get tired or hungry and on the verge of being cranky,
I pray "Lord, sustain me."
When I doubt and start to think about things not working out,
I pray "Jesus, help my unbelief."
When I have a new business opportunity and it looks good on the surface,
I pray "Jesus, what do You think?"
When I get what I need and realize God's perfect timing,
I pray "Thank You Jesus. Thank You."
The more I do this,
The more I'm connected,
The more I'm connected,
The more of God's peace I feel,
The more of God's peace I feel,
The more I can handle anything life has for me,
Because my God will never fail.
"Don't worry about anything; instead, pray about everything. Tell God what you need, and thank him for all he has done. Then you will experience God's peace, which exceeds anything we can understand. His peace will guard your hearts and minds as you live in Christ Jesus."
It's when we forget this,
We're disconnected,
It's when we take our eyes off of Jesus,
That we become anxious, stressed or afraid.
So as simple as it is,
These super SHORT prayers are like,
Mini power lines to God.
I invite you to use them freely,
Plug and play them in like they're going out of style.
It only takes a second,
To reconnect with God,
And recharge your soul,
To prepare for the next meeting,
The next thought,
Your next breath.
This is how we can be the best version of our self all day everyday,
Only through God's power,
Only through His strength.
