Who's Got Your Firstfruits...?
Have you ever look at Jesus is our investor or shareholder?
Did you know that as an investor you can be a preferred shareholder or a common shareholder.
What's the difference?
PREFERRED shareholders have priority over a company's income, meaning they are paid dividends before common shareholders.
COMMON stockholders are last in line when it comes to company assets.
"You were bought with a price; do not become bondservants of men."
"For you were bought with a price. So glorify God in your body."
So the question is...
Do we treat Him like a COMMON stockholder or a PREFERRED stockholder?
Solomon actually talks about this in the Bible.
"Honor the Lord with your wealth, with the firstfruits of all your crops"
Does Jesus get the first and best of what we have or the leftovers?
In today's world, our MOST valuable asset is our time.
In life things we would rather pay for things or services because we don't want to do it or don't have time.
For example, lawn care, house cleaning, babysitting, cooking, etc.
(There's nothing wrong with that.)
But when it comes to your PERSONAL quiet time how do you treat that?
Does He get your best part of your day when your fresh and alert?
Or does He get scraps and leftovers?
Something or someone IS getting your firstfruit.
It's either God or...
Your business,
Your family,
Your kids,
Your hobbies,
Your social Media,
Your latest TV shows,
Your firstfruit is going SOMEWHERE.
So I just want to lovingly remind you how critical this is...
We all can see that the world is getting more evil and dark,
It seems like Satan is winning,
But that's why we must WAKE UP to seek God more than ever!
There's not going to be a change in this world UNTIL God's children start getting serious about SEEKING Him and reading His WORD as daily bread.
So here's 3 steps to start giving your FIRSTFRUITS to God.
Start off with 15 minutes a day.
1) Set an appointment with You and the Lord in your calendar.
2) Set an alarm on your phone.
3) Keep the appointment like it's an appointment with your most important client.
If you don't know what to fill that time with you can...
1) simply hangout with Jesus at first and talk to Him. "Hey Jesus, I'm here. It's been a while hanging out like this. How are you? What do you have to say?..."
2) Read just a simple verse and meditate on it by asking "God, what do you want to tell me about this verse today?" then be still and LISTEN... write down any thoughts that come to mind (consider it practice)
3) Then as "God, how does this APPLY to me today?" then BE STILL and LISTEN... write down any thoughts that come to mind (consider it practice).
That's it.
Keep it simple.
15 minutes is a great start.
It's amazing how much God has to say,
It's cool how timely His words can be for that day.
It's like weerd-cool!
"Dear Heavenly Father,
Help me give my firstfruits to You each DAY,
Help me make You a PRIORITY,
May I treat you like a PREFERRED shareholder and not a common one,
May I renew my vows to You each day,
As You renew Your mercies to me every morning.
Lead me,
Guide me,
Guard me,
I am Yours,
Your will be done.
In Jesus name, Amen."
