You Will Hear It...
Have you ever made such a big mess it's too big to untangle?
The untangling and cleanup require is so daunting it makes your brain numb.
That's ok.
Been there.
Done that.
In it.
Thank God (literally) that's where He comes in.
There's nothing He can't handle,
There's no mess too big He can't clean up,
There's no disaster too wild He can't tame,
There's no storm too large He can't calm.
Just when you think you've messed things up so bad it can't be fixed,
That's where Jesus comes in.
Just when you think it's too broken,
That's where Jesus comes in.
Just when you have no energy to even address it,
That's where Jesus comes in.
God says, "My power is made perfect in weakness".
Paul says "That is why, for Christ’s sake, I delight in weaknesses, in insults, in hardships, in persecutions, in difficulties. For when I am weak, then I am strong."
If you're done with trying to do it your way and REALLY ready to hand it over to Jesus and say "Jesus take the wheel!", then God's got you exactly where He wants you.
It's no surprise to Him how much you messed up.
Our hot mess is no secret to Him.
God knows how much of a disaster we are,
So it's ok.
You can let your guard down.
You don't have to be picture perfect for Him.
God's not impressed with our filters and photoshop.
He just wants our heart,
Our unfiltered and unadulterated heart.
He always has.
And even if you feel you've lost your way,
Even if you feel so far away from God,
God is not far away from you.
He is RIGHT there with you,
RIGHT next to you,
RIGHT beside you.
Sitting where you sit,
Crying where you cry,
Mourning where you mourn.
And He's also comforting you,
Leading you,
Guiding you,
Even if you don't know it,
He is always with you.
So if you feel like you've lost your way with God and getting close seems impossible,
I say it's impossible for God to lose you.
He's got His eye on you,
He always has.
If that's hard to believe,
Look at the theif on the cross.
He was a crooked person till the day He died and at the final moment,
He called on Jesus
And Jesus took Him in arms wide open,
And even took Him to heaven.
How cool is that.
And if you think Jesus doesn't "get" you,
All the pain you are going through,
All the turmoil and conflict,
The exhaustion and confusion,
And that Jesus is so "beyond"our mess,
Remember how Jesus wept with Mary when Lazarus died.
He compassionately wept,
With all His heart.
Jesus feels our pain,
He cries when we cry,
He empathizes with us,
He is RIGHT there with us in ALL of it.
And lastly...
Even if it has been a long time since you reached out to Jesus,
Know that ANY time you decide to call out for Him,
ANY time you decide to ask for help in a squeaky little voice,
He will be right there for you.
And even if you don't know if He will answer or care about your cry for help,
You will discover this...
"Whether you turn to the right or to the left, your ears will hear a voice behind you, saying, `This is the way; walk in it.`"
God is ALWAYS there for us,
God is ALWAYS near,
God is especially amazing in times of hardship,
God is especially bright in times of darkness,
So call out to Him this day,
No matter if it's been a year or a decade,
Just say,
"God, it's been a while.
I need You.
Will you help me?
Amen."
That's an invitation enough for God.
He will show up for you,
So be on the look out.
Whether it's a miracle,
A comforting thought,
A sense of peace in the middle of the storm,
You never know HOW He will show up,
But He WILL,
He ALWAYS does.
"I will never leave you nor forsake you."
"As soon as he hears, he will answer you. Although the Lord gives you the bread of adversity and the water of affliction, your teachers will be hidden no more;"
God will reveal the solutions,
God will send the right people,
God will give you the strength,
To endure,
To persevere,
So that you can come out victorious on the other side.
If you're in that place where the storm is wild,
The battle is real,
And you're tired of the struggle...
Hang in there,
God's got you exaclty where He want's you,
Needing Him,
To show you that you need Him.
It's ok,
Just say it,
"Jesus, take the wheel",
And let go.
Amen.
It's that simple.
God is good,
All the time,
All the time,
God is good.
