I'm going to go out on a limb here to share some spiritual truths with the intention of helping you gain freedom. Some might say this is foolish. Some might say it's wreckless, some might say it's insanity.

I say it's about time to have this conversation. Here's the truth. You chose real estate as a career for a better life. To improve the life of yourself and others. You have beautiful intentions of caring for your clients, generating wealth, financial abundance and sharing that with your family and the community.

I've personally connected with so many beautiful souls that want to use their wealth to: help the homeless, the veterans, young women, children, food shelters, abused women, teachers, shelters, churches and so much more. The desire to share the wealth and make an impact warms my health just thinking about it. I truly believe these heartfelt desires reflect your calling and purpose in life.

Here's the catch.
If you believe there is a force for good and a force for evil, God (aka God) wants to guide you there.
The force for evil (aka devil, satan) wants to stop you at all costs.
God wants to live the best version of y our life and use you as a light in the world to spread love, joy, truth, and happiness.
When you live your best life according to his plan you are the most prosperous, happy, joyful, and overflowing with love.

Your relationships are rich, your family bonds are deep and you provoke others to jealousy with your joy and happiness.
They want to know your secret and want some of it. You're a light that draws people into your warmth and love for life.
You are so grateful every day you wake up and you have a pep in your step like a youthful, blissful child.
You are a fire for spreading love and it's contagious.

The "enemy" (aka the devil) hates this idea.
He will stop at nothing to prevent this from coming true.
And if the devil can't stop you completely from succeeding or finding some happiness, he will go to plan B.
Chaos, destruction, and fear.

Here's what that looks like:
1. Chaos - have you ever felt like everything in your business is so disorganized or chaotic that it send you into a state of overwhelm or sometimes even shutting down? Have you ever thought that things are so discouraging that you're not even to try fixing it? ... You just keep swimming in the chaos? Well, if the devil can keep you barely breathing and mostly drowning in chaos, he can keep your good intentions burned. If he can't turn you bad, he tries to just bug or distract you.

2. Distraction - have you ever found yourself jumping from one good idea to the next? So much so that at some point it becomes paralyzing? So so so that sometimes you spend thousands of dollars without doing anything with it? Has this happened  over and over again? This is the spirit of distraction. The devil figures if he can't convert you, he'll distract the crap out of you so your good works are kept to a minimum. It's the concept of a "Loss Leader". Losing a little on purpose for gain or prevention of a bigger loss.

3. Pride - everyone has the need to look good. It feels good to be recognized or number 1 in something, anything. It feels good to see your beautiful face on a sign. Website, business card or tv, but how much do you love it? How much does it drive or satisfy your ego to close more deals, hire more people, have others look up to you? It's easy to get caught up in that and pay a price you never intended. I've seen brokers sacrifice their family time, profit and common sense/good judgement just to make a "list" or be number one. I've been there. I've done radio, TV, HGTV, hosting shows, magazines, awards, front stage etc. I know what it feels like to get caught up in that. It's so easy to get swept up. Trust me, I know. But it's all a distraction. This takes your eye off the ball. Minimizes your impact in the world and feeds your ego.

All of these are part of the great spiritual battle. There's no doubt everyone has felt it. The battle with the spirit of chaos. The battle with the spirit of distraction. The battle with the spirit of pride. It matters to know the truth about the battle we face. If not, you don't even know who or what your up against.

If you don't see the spiritual battle then you end up battle yourself by yourself. When you find out it's not easy, you get discouraged especially when you think it's yourself. But if you can separate yourself from the problem and choose the right strategies, then you can conquer and win these battles a lot more efficiently.

I'm all about efficiency. The truth is recognizing the spiritual battle is the most efficient way of winning it. But first you need to recognized and acknowledge it. Or else you'll just keep fighting yourself. That's a suicide mission if you ask me!

So what's the solution?

Well, this is a spiritual battle... So that means this is a spiritual warfare. And the spiritual weapon of choice is prayer. That is the easiest, quickest and most powerful weapon. Of course, there are many others but I recommend to start there.  Haven't prayed in a while? Don't know where to start or what to say?

Here's some prayers you can use or modify to fit your needs.

1. Dear Jesus, I come to you in prayer. It's been so long I didn't know where to start but here I am. I come to you and invite you into my heart to lead me, guide me and guard me. I come to you to give you the spirit of chaos and the lies it tells me.
